The cathedral with the wooden statues is in Sibenik, one of the prettiest towns along the coast. Islands everywhere with walking paths that called on me to come back and hike the different islands. The cathedral s beautiful and has wooden statues with depictions of the saints and Mary and the child that I’ve never seen before. St. Francis with Jesus looks like a jester. Mary with Jesus is dressed in a gold gown and looks playful. The church had traditional paintings with traditional sorrowful themes but I liked the playful nature of the wooden statues.
