We are trying to visit libraries wherever we go. This one in Hvar is in an old palace. They are very cramped for space. There 30,000 book collection is crammed into every nook and cranny with books sideways on the shelves. I love the book bench outside. Library director Nickla said the city is looking for a new building but in the meantime, they are very crowded. What’s good in all of these towns is that we ask a shop keeper where the library is and they always know and only once was it 20 minutes out of town.
